About Dr. Jacob DeLaRosa
Dr. DeLaRosa is a modern Cardiovascular Surgeon in every sense of the word! He is one of a handful of cardiac surgeons that is trained in wire skills, and performs complex thoracic and abdominal aortic pathology via minimally invasive and percutaneous approaches. His skills are the most sought after today in cardiovascular surgery for the future.
He trained at the prestigious Emory University in Atlanta, GA under the tutelage or Dr. Robert Guyton. In 2004 he left Emory and went to Idaho to build the first Cardiothoracic and Endovascular Center in Southeast, Idaho.
Currently, Dr. DeLaRosa is at Idaho State University and Chief of Cardiothoracic and Endovascular surgical services at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho. Dr. DeLaRosa is a dynamic teacher, role model, a leader in medicine, a celebrity speaker and author.
He has made significant contributions to the field of Cardiothoracic surgery with multiple national and international presentations, dozens of publications, and contributions to several textbooks in the field of lung disorders, cardiovascular disease, approaches to the thoracic spine, and Endovascular surgery. His new book HEART SURGERY GAME PLAN was written to bring heart disease main stream. He has taken the complexity of heart disease and used a football metaphor to help the reader understand this awful disease.
